Taylor Flandro Music Lessons
MY BACKGROUND

My music journey began when I was in 8th grade and got my first drum set. I quickly started writing music with friends and started playing gigs, eventually gaining recognition from a major Utah radio station (X96) who put us on a local band compilation album.
After I graduated high school, I started teaching guitar/ukulele and spent the next few years studying music and music education at Salt Lake Community College, and then the University of Utah. I began taking piano and violin lessons from the school during this time. I eventually took a break from school to travel around the country with a touring band for a couple years, performing on drums, fiddle, guitar, and harmonica.
When I finished playing with that band in 2014, I switched my college major, but continued teaching guitar, uke, violin, piano, and harmonica. I’ve been doing that ever since, while also gigging with a handful of bands over the years. I’m currently doing lots of session work and playing keyboard, violin, and pedal steel with a few different groups.

I’m fluent with music theory and able to teach songwriting and/or part writing.
Throughout the last 15+ years of playing music, I’ve learned to play almost 20 different instruments, so I’ve always been a beginner at something. I believe this has made me a more patient and sympathetic teacher than most. I know the struggle of starting an instrument, but I also know the quickest route to get you jamming!
